Planes in the sky going BOOM! KABLAM! and catching on fire.
Does anyone else notice this? Flight 261. 2 other Alaska Airlines planes down for that stabilizer problem. Then another one stops in SFO in the wee hours tonight. 2 small planes collide midair above a San Fernando Valley Golf Course. Coincidence I guess – or press’ oversensitivity to plane accidents since it’s in vogue for the week. Just odd.
Tonight I watched Freeway. It was a very good movie. I have newfound respect for Reese Whitherspoon. I watch a lot of movies, don’t I? Raph asked me what I’ve been up to and I realized that mostly what I do is watch movies, sit in front of my computer like a zombie (some for work, some for pleasure), eat, sleep, roll around on my floor in weird poses, pet my cat and walk. This is my very glamorous life.
I listened to Madonna’s perennial favorite ‘Like A Virgin’ today while getting dressed. I also dyed my hair a mixture of Ruby Red and Deep Amethyst which means it’s dark reddishpurplish brown now. Red was getting a bit overwhelming for me. I hate when my outside doesn’t match my insides.
Now I’m home. It’s 4am. I’m cheating by making the date for this entry since it’s really February 8th by now – but this is about Monday (mostly) so the 7th makes more sense. I’m home and the tv is playing softly in the other room because I like background noise. I ate some Rice Crispy treats @ Jen and Garland’s right before I left so my tummy’s too full to do yoga even though I feel like doing some right now. I could watch Jacob’s Ladder but I’m afraid to watch it before I go to bed when I’m alone. I’m a weenie sometimes. It’s because I’ve just seen bits and parts of the movie when I was younger and my dad was watching it in the living room. He told me it would scare me but I snuck by and peeked in a few times and saw strange crawly creatures. They probably are more scary that way, stuck out in space with no context for my mind to attach them to. No story or plot, just scary scenes I remember in a random order.
Jaime used to let me read ghost stories from alt.folklore.ghost-stories to her outloud @ 3 in the morning. I like to read them but once I’m finished reading them I get scared – she would let me read them to her and then be scared with me, but not too scared because we had each other in case any of the stories were true.
