I woke up this morning with the conviction that I’d pay ALL OF THE MONEY IN MY CHECKING ACCOUNT just to be able to stay in bed instead of going to work. I fought it and woke up, jumped in the shower before I could talk myself out of it, and scrambled to get out the door. I was running late and wouldn’t have time to stop @ QFC to buy a tub of Red Vines for enticing surly 8th graders to come to my table during their lunch hour – oh well. Luckily at the last minute I thought I’d check my email to see if the school librarian had picked up something instead, and lo and behold! School closures! Some more email digging revealed that we are on a snow schedule at work which means instead of schlepping to another branch today I may only have to walk a few blocks up to CAP. Now I’m back in my jammies drinking coffee and petting kittens while I wait for more news on when/where to report today.
For the record, the snow isn’t very substantial here on the hiil, but I think elsewhere it’s deeper. I think the problem is ice more than snow; apparently I-5 is like an ice rink. Weather.com tells me that it’s 22°F out but it Feels Like 9°F. Have I mentioned how much I love living somewhere with Winter? I do. Sky and I took a long walk last night to find crepes and then spent our evening sliding down icy hills in our rubber boots and throwing snowballs. Blissful, yeah yeah.

November 28, 2006Horray for snow days! Thanks for the weather update. I was watching Monday Night Football lastnight (Seahawks) and wondered how much snow you got.

November 28, 2006I know, I am still snuggly at home too. Thank goodness for snow days.
Um, does Sky work at Cornish? Just wondering…

November 28, 2006No, Sky is an architect. You know a Sky @ Cornish? Maybe they should meet and form a Seattle Sky Society.
I’ve been meaning to email you – we should meet up for some hot drinks soon.

November 28, 2006I absolutely agree with this. Definitely hot drinks.
Sky at Cornish is my ex–happily ex, but maybe a little strange. Glad your Sky is an architect. I am having a dinner thing at my house on Saturday at 6:30. Wanna come? You can bring the Sky
