I just had a lovely weekend off of work – my parents came to visit with their very nice cultural exchange student, Lisa. We tromped around, ate good food, and relaxed with the kitties. Gus is now HUGE – almost Lola’s size. It’s remarkable how much he’s grown in just a few short months.
The holidays were nice, if rushed. Everyone bought/made really thoughtful gifts this year and it made our time together even better than usual. The fireworks set off of the Space Needle were amazing.
Work is going well – there’s a whole new batch of exciting things happening in the next few months. I love how this job never gets stale — there’s always books to buy or programs to promote or events to organize. On top of that there’s time at the reference desk, which as wearing as it can be at times, is still my favorite part of librarianship.
Things in LoveLand are still boffo great. I really can’t remember a life without a Sky in it, which is as comforting as it is bizarre. I know I existed before I met him, but in what sort of capacity I can’t remember – it all seems so blurry and unfocused. This isn’t to say I was any less a person, or am now any more, but that now I seem to make a lot more sense.
On that note, it’s time to get back to the buying, promoting, and planning. I hope all is well in the rest of the universe, and I promise to be in touch with the rest of the world soon.

January 8, 2007Oi, you need to listen to this weeks Prairie Home Companion. It had a skit about Reference Librarians!
I also got some cool cards that I need to send you. I was reading them and cackling in the aisles of Wal-Mart and people looked at me funny
I do a happy dance that you’re having a happy life n Seattle! *happy dance*
