Counsellor, Disco, Marijuana

Memes can be fun once in awhile.

Go to IMDb and look up 10 TV shows you like(d).
-Post three official IMDb “Plot Keywords” for these 10 picks.
-Have your friends guess the show names (no cheating!)

1. prodigal son, black comedy, crack head (Six Feet Under, good job Eliza)
2. deadpan, incest, doppelganger (Twin Peaks, good job Eliza)
3. alien love, music store, farce (Mork & Mindy, PC Librarian!)
4. crooked businessman, self referential, cousin
5. counsellor, disco, marijuana (Freaks & Geeks, PC Librarian!)
6. whimsical, heckler, quirky (The Muppet Show, Rob)
7. private detective, secret, character name in title (Remington Steele, thanks Rob and PC Librarian!)
8. public relations, vodka, dream sequence
9. suburbs, poignant, generation gap (The Wonder Years, PC Librarian!)
10. sexual tension, basement office, implant (X-Files, PC Librarian, natch)

Go to it, readers!

Update: Pop Culture Librarian is wiping up the floor with the bums of the rest of you. Here are three hints:

one of these shows has multiple theme songs
one of these shows lasted far too short a time
“heckler” could easily be replaced with “hecklers”

Well I’m good and stumped. I’d guess that #7 is Monk?

I’ve never seen Monk, but I’ve been meaning to catch an episode online sometime. The hint for #7 is that it was my favorite show when I was about 11 or 12 years old.

#1 is Six Feet Under; #2 Twin Peaks, and I’m stumped on #7 with that clue! Maybe Wishbone but I think that was after our time. #5 might be That 70s Show.

Nice work, lady! #1 and #2 were spot on – #5 and #7 not so much.

    #7–Remington Steele?
Why in God’s name to I retain this stuff in my head?

Ok, watch the pop culture librarian go! (Ok, after that boast, don’t make too much fun of me if I’m wrong on all of these).

Alien love? That’s got to be Mork and Mindy. #7 is totally Remington Steele! #9 is maybe the Wonder Years? And #10 is the X-Files. #5 (this one I am not so sure about but am guessing) Freaks and geeks?

OK, hecklers, plural tells me what we’re talking about for #6: The Muppet Show.
