Yesterday I typed out a bit of a tirade about people who leave their taxes for the very last day and then unleash their fury on the world at large. However, today is another day. It is the day that is after the tax deadline day – it is Tax Due Date Jerk Absolution Day™ and all is forgiven. Until next April.
I spent the weekend soaking up the sun, which for me means prescription sunglasses and reapplying sunscreen 3x a day and still getting sunburned. My sad pink nose and cheeks led me to the cosmetics counter and I’m now the proud owner of Ridiculously Expensive But Supposed to Be Good Sunscreen #6 of the season. This one actually does feel rather nice on my face and has not caused any itchy skin, so it may be a keeper. I’ve already tried 4 other sunscreens since February (Origin’s Out Smart, Aveda Dual Nature Face Protection, Alba Sunscreen for Sensitive Faces, Oil of Olay Complete for Sensitive Skin, and Thomas Roth Ultralite Sunscreen if anyone is playing along at home).
In other news, I have a cold. Is that ever new news? I hate the first year of living somewhere new – my immune system always has to catch up before it can work properly. I’ll tell you what I do like about having a cold, though – the fact that it forces me to sleep so much that my sleep schedule begins to resemble normalcy. Today I woke up at 8:30 am with a spring in my step and spent the morning at leisure (normally I would wake up about 45 minutes before I had to be at work and run around my apartment with half my clothes on, eating toast and balancing hot coffee).
