CARIBBEAN THERAPY TREATMENT – 50 mins

The sunscreen is great. You know what else is great? $15 haircuts. I got one last week, plus a $15 “brow shaping” which was the most relaxing thing I’ve experienced involving tweezers. I also got my hair colored so my granny gray hair is less noticeable. All of this was done at the local Aveda Institute which is my new favorite place.

I’ve never been a salon kind of girl, preferring to cut my own hair and slop henna on it every few months. However, I went in for a haircut because I felt like doing something on a Friday afternoon, and the rest is history. Did you know that I have an amazing eyebrow arch? Now I do. I thought being a beauty school this place would be crowded and crazy. It was a little crazy, but they bring you tea and there are candles everywhere. If you get a spa procedure they take you down into your own cozy little made-of-sheets-room in the basement, lit by candlelight and smelling of loveliness. I almost fell asleep while having my brows ripped out with wax – it was that gentle and soothing.

I’ve never had a facial, but that may be next on my Day Off list.

In other news, Jaime and I are planning an exotic beachy vacation in June. Facials? Salons? Bahamas? Who have I become? If I start wearing platform flip flops or going to self tanning places please stage an intervention.
