I went to a lovely little Halloween party on Saturday with Rae and Carol from work – they had black and white zombie films from the 1940s playing in the backyard, and sweet little treat bags for all of the kids. I didn’t have the brains or energy to think up a costume, so I went with the old standby: Velma from Scooby Doo.

Don’t mind the glassy-eyed stare: I’d just woken up from a nap with the cats on the couch and I hadn’t yet slurped down the hot cup of coffee that was out of the frame in this shot…
