Writing about Belle de Jour made me think about blogging and London and piles of other things. I decided to go re-read one of my older blogs – the one I wrote from 2000-2002 while living far away and transitioning from web designer geek to student. I found a really neat post…I think this was the first time I expressed, to anyone other than my parents, that I wanted to go back to school and why. Neat to think how far I’ve come.

Whew. What a day.

I’m a free agent!

Still too new to be fully realized, but gosh do I feel like that’s one important thing sorted.

Here are two new revelations for the day:
1. I’m 93% sure I want to be a Librarian. This means finding an entry level assistant book stacking job in a library, finishing my undergrad degree (~2 years, knowing how transfer credits work) and then getting another degree. Whew.
2. I’m sharing my flat with a small grey mouse. We met last night as I was sitting very still, reading in my chair. We were equally shocked by the other’s existance. Mmm. Must find humane mouse-box type trap tomorrow. I’m scared to death I’ll squish him in the middle of the night on my way to the bathroom. How bleeding heart is that?

Now, schools. I need to find out if I still hold residence in CA, and if so, what schools I can get into/afford. Also I will do this in Portland, as my first school is in the same city, and PSU isn’t very expensive, with or without residency. Must track down transcripts and other bits of paper. I feel too old to be doing this. If anyone looks at me funny in classes I’ll give them that librarian eyebrow and put my finger to my lips. I’m halfway there already!

PS: Thank you Halsted for answering my 190,038 questions and giving me the low down
