Something in the air

I had a fantastic vacation. It was a holiday in the truest sense of the word: time spent far away from the cares of normal, everday life. We had a nice drive down to California, visiting my parents along the way and filling up the van with various thrift store scores. The cabin was cozy and we enjoyed making it moreso. I was unable to use my phone, my computer’s battery was empty, and there was no television – it was bliss.

On our way back up we immersed ourselves in that particular brand of confessional style conversation that happens only when you’re driving with one other person in the car at night. We also stopped for dinner with my sister and brother-in-law - it was delicious. The holiday made us feel even closer, and I’m really excited about moving after spending the week discussing details and non-details.

Good news is all around, although, as is often the nature with Good News, much of it is hush-hush until all is said and done. I’m sitting in a little bubble of happy – still feeling as if I’m on vacation a bit, even though I’m sitting at my desk eating my lunch, at work.
