2007: Year in Review

 

1. What did you do in 2007 that you’d never done before?
used an outhouse for an extended period of time (Humboldt, November)

2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t usually make them, just go day by day.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thank goodness, no.

5. What countries did you visit?
Mexico (Playa del Carmen with Jaime, November)

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
A good creative outlet

7. What dates from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory?
The day my dad first fell/had to go to the hospital (in the middle of a hair appointment at the Gary Manuel Institute); the day I found out that they thought he had ALS (sitting on the couch with Sky on a Friday evening); the day I found out he did not have ALS; day he got surgery – notice a pattern?

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
moving to the new place, seeing our vision through without getting freaked out :)

9. What was your biggest failure?
a few library programs didn’t turn out as I had hoped they would

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing too bad, no

11. What was the best thing you bought?
bronze colored I♥JC mary janes that I wore until they fell apart

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
lots of coworkers

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
people who stole from the library and/or did drugs in the library

14. Where did most of your money go?
rent, student loans

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
moving to the new place; visiting Humboldt; Mexico

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
Amsterdam – Peter Bjorn and John

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? happier
b) thinner or fatter? oh a bit fatter, I suppose
c) richer or poorer? richer

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Traveling

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Sugar-eating

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I spent it with my family in Oregon and then with Sky’s family here

(21 is still missing, since 2004)

22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
Yeah, more and more

23. How many one-night stands?
0

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Sky and I rewatched 6 Feet Under since he had not seen it, other than that, no TV

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Nope.

26. What was the best book you read?
What an evil question! I refuse to answer on principle. I read 182,829 great books this year.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Avett Brothers, St. Vincent, Peter Bjorn and John are probably top of the list

28. What did you want and get?
Happiness

29. What did you want and not get?
Less tension/friction in the workplace

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I really loved Tears of a Black Tiger

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was in Mexico – we sat on the beach and got massages – I turned 31.

32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
About 3 more vacations in Mexico (or elsewhere)

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Librarian Chic

34. What kept you sane?
Sky, the cats, long naps

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I wasn’t really paying attention…

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
I wasn’t really paying attention…

37. Who did you miss?
Jaime, my family

38. Who was the best new person you met?
I cannot pick just one, having met so many neat new people up here

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007:
Pet your cats when you feel insane.

Final Thoughts:
2007 had some downs but overall was amazing and full of great new things
