Paint in my hair

I came to work today with a few splotches of paint in my hair, but who cares, right? If I’d taken the time to wash it out, I would just be getting more in when I go home tonight to finish the kitchen. I’m embracing the mess that is DOITYOURSELF.

We’re using ecofriendly paint that doesn’t smell bad or make the cats sneeze, which is nice. We got a nice bright yellow color for the kitchen (kind of French, kind of like the tea roses we had in a jar on the table) and when I get home tonight Sky should have a nice batch of bright turquoise ready for the bathroom. Painting is fun once you get past the putty and the sanding and the bazillion layers of primer.

My interview went well – I’m glad it’s over with. I think I represented myself and my ideas well – now they just need to decide if they like my ideas or not! The position would be a lot of work and using a different set of skills, but it could be an adventure.

I just bought a 60% discounted silver/metal Christmas Tree online. Since we didn’t get our family gifts out on time, we asked for a 30 day extension. I’m hoping to have a jolly holiday setup for January 25th.

Lastly, we saw a fantastic documentary a few nights ago: Jupiter’s Wife. I saw it on the sorting cart at Capitol Hill and picked it up based on the cover and blurb. It’s about a homeless woman living in Central Park and a documentary maker who begins to learns her history prior to their meeting – it was fascinating and good for me to watch, for me to be reminded of my feelings about humanity in general. Put a hold on it, library users!
