I’ve earned my first DIY injury at the hands of the bathroom ceiling + a roller on a long stick. My back is whacked out and I spent most of yesterday on the couch moaning and carrying on. Today I’m at work and still moaning and carrying on, but I have a Vicodin in me so the pain is less…vivid.
I didn’t get offered the job I interviewed for last week, which is probably for the best. I was stressing out overly much about making decisions and this way I’m spared them – how convenient! Also I love where I am now, and with the added hours, it’s like a whole new job.
Despite my back breaking afternoon, I was able to prop myself up long enough to attend Sky’s company party at a bowling alley last night - good fun was had. I spoke with one of Sky’s coworkers about out-of-favor/less popular sports (he had just arranged for a big group of his friends to go Curling) and I told him about my idea to build a Bocce ball setup at our new house – now I’m inspired.
I decided I wanted to make a resolution for 2008, after all, and it’s this: be more social. Sky and I both get caught up in work and so stressyfaced that we tend to neglect the rest of the world. I had fun last night, and we live so close to so many neat bars and eating places…we walked home making great plans for secret dinners and nights out dancing. Let’s hope we see it through.
