I’m uploading about 8 years worth of photos to flickr right now, so needless to say, I’m finding some great things.
Here are two photos taken in different cities – the first is in London, near my bus stop, the second in Amsterdam, about a block from where we stayed. I just love them together.


I always fancied the second one as saying something like “Be aware of dog poo” since that dog looks like it’s doing some business; instead, it means “Hound in the Gutter” as in, watch out, there may be a huge dog in your way (very accurate, by the way).
It’s too bad that the second tile doesn’t mean what I thought it meant. I loved the conflicting messages: in London, we do not like the dog poop, in Amsterdam, it is a part of life and we accept it.
Also: I love how the London dog poop looks like a campfire.
