Photo Spree!

A few things at the front of my mind right now, mainly in photos…

1) Medium Cool – a movie we saw last night @ Northwest Film Forum – totally blew my mind. It was a narrative film with a lot of documentary/real footage from the riots surrounding the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. The film was directed by Haskell Wexler, and it’s just amazing. Unfortunately it isn’t on DVD and it looks like last night was the final showing; hopefully it will show again!

2) My new scooter! This is a photo from the craigslist ad. I think I’m going to name it Pickle because during the 2 hour road trip to pick it up on Saturday night, I kept singing the Pickle Song by Arlo Guthrie…

3) I’m finally admitting defeat and buying some new fangled “outerwear” for the winter (and more specifically for riding the scooter in the winter). I’ve ordered a raincoat that is made of snazzy modern materials and some wellies. This is a pretty big deal for me because the last two winters I’ve stubbornly worn my vintage old wool coats and walked around in leather bottomed flats in the rain. Time to admit I live in Seattle and dress accordingly. Plus these are cute in green.

4) New York, I want to be a part of it! We’re visiting New York in September and I’m downright giddy. I’ve never been to New York which seems odd considering I’ve been to all sorts of other places. I can’t wait to museum hop and shoe shop and walk, walk, walk all over the place. Handily, Sky used to live there so he will be a great tour guide.
