Wendy and Lucy (2008)

This movie, geez. It did a number on me, in the very best way. I loved the quiet drama of ‘Old Joy’ so I was really excited to see this director’s next film and it did not dissapoint. I felt gutted after we left the theatre, and I still feel emotionally hung over the next morning. Art that can disrupt your normal patterns of behavior and thinking that profoundly deserves respect and admiration. I feel like my world view was tweaked back in the right direction after sitting in that theatre, and today I’m doing my best to keep it in mind as I work.
