Money Can Buy Happiness: Part 1

So I’ve created a new category on the blog: Nosey! I was going to call it Voyeurism but I realized that I ought not to throw that word around as much as I do, because it’s primarily sexual. Anyway, I used to (and still do when I have mass amounts of time) read the blogs of total strangers and find myself riveted by the small details of their lives. Like what they ate for breakfast. What mascara they wore. Their favorite pair of shoes. Oh hey, that last one could be voyeuristic!

So I’m starting the category off with something that’s meant a lot to me in the last two weeks. It’s a set of makeup products, which may make me shallow, but something that makes me cheerful at 8 in the morning must be given credit.

Makes my face pale and fresh looking!

Le Blanc de Chanel & Teint Innocence in Alabatre

I have very fair skin that tends to the ruddy side – most foundations I’ve tried (cheap and expensive both) turn orangey pink on me after a few hours. I finally broke down and bought the Good Stuff. I’d spent so much $ buying mid-range products that never really worked and I’d resorted to using a neutralizing primer as foundation which made me look all sallow and weird.

This stuff smells good and makes me all dewy fresh and pretty, if I do say so myself. Most of the time I just use the primer (Le Blanc de Chanel) alone w/ some powder, but if I’m particularly reddish or want to look fancier I put on the foundation as well.

Next up in this category: My Favorite Oatmeal.

I recently learned the value of expensive makeup. And, as a fellow paleface, I want to give this a try!

If you want to try one first I’d go for the Blanc — I’ve read on Makeup Alley that you can mix it with your current foundation to keep it from oxidizing. Even alone it’s really nice. The Teint Innocence on its own is a bit dark (even though it’s their lightest color, .5 intensity), but if you get both it works well.
