I’ve been sitting around with time on my hands, which means sitting around reading. I just finished a great, funny young adult book called Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One Before (you can read my review on Goodreads if you click on the title). It was fresh and enjoyable.

I also got a slew of new titles from my weekly reading of the NY Book Review and general word of mouthness. First off was a book I saw in Bailey/Coy a few weeks ago — a history/narrative of a relationship imagined via a auction catalog of items. The title of the book was so long and complex that I had to take a photo of the book with my phone’s camera in order to go back to work and put a hold on it! It’s called Important Artifacts and Personal Property from the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris, Including Books, Street Fashion, and Jewelry.

There were tons of holds on the auction book, but I looked up the author (Leanne Shapton) and put her other book (Was She Pretty?) on hold, as well as some books by Arthur Phillips (The Egyptologist and Angelica), whom I’ve heard good things about but never followed through with. Added to the bottom of the list is The Girl With Brown Fur, which took me to Bailey/Coy in the first place because I’d read Paul Constant’s review over my pizza and had to have the book.
