Serial Killer or Wedding Spot?

We’ve sent in our deposit, so it’s official! We found our perfect wedding spot – nestled off of a LONG dirt road, outside of Ukiah, California. It’s called Leonard Lake Reserve (not to be confused with Leonard Lake, the serial killer) and it’s gorge-US.

There’s a collection of houses and cabins that sleeps 45 people in beds, camping room for anyone who wants to go that route, a FREAKING LAKE that is all our own, boats for the lake, a variety of kitchens to use, porches galore, trails for hiking, trees for looking at, and I think even horseback riding? What it is is awesome. We are so completely over the moon about it, seriously.

We both wanted to find a place where people could stay together and really get to know one another, since we’re combining quite a few different families with this here wedding. We wanted it to be a vacation, a fun weekend away for everyone! I also wanted to find a way to have real kitchens so we could have a Potluck to End All Potlucks.

We’ve set our date for October 1st & 2nd (haven’t decided which day we’ll do the actual official part on yet), when the temperature averages 84°F — it hit 94° this year — and the lake is still good for swimming. Can’t wait!
