I’m pretty sure I’ve just turned a 15 year old away from the library, permanently. I was trying to help him look up Côte d’Ivoire political history using our databases but what I ended up doing was coughing for about 5 minutes straight while trying to point to things as I clicked. He looked uncomfortable throughout and finally wiggled his card and the Databases handout out of my hands and escaped. I tried to push some Germ-X hand sanitizer on him but he was desperate to flee. I get it. I’d flee, too.

Where I will be spending most of my vacation

In a small number of hours I’ll be on HOLIDAY. My best friend is currently making her way through the air to Seattle. After work we will eat food and be together and bliss out, regardless of how much snot is in my head. Tomorrow we take off for Vancouver, where we’ll be staying at the fabulous Loden Vancouver Hotel. All I can think of, every time I see or say that word, is Louden Trott. Or more specifically, Madonna yelling “LOOOUUUDEN!” over and over.* We’re going to eat, walk, and sleep until we are so relaxed and happy that we are transformed. Then and only then will we return to the good old US of A.
